Players:
- 5x5 has 5 players for the entire game, J! has 3 players (can have less for final question)
- Each player is attempting to signal vs double the number of opponents in 5x5 vs J!
Clues:
- Players provide answers in 5x5, players provide questions in J!
- Players must select clues top to bottom in each category of 5x5, while in J! they can select any clue position.
- The 5x5 final has five correct answers, the J! final has one correct question
Values:
- 5x5 player scores start with 5000 points, J! scores start with $0
- 5x5 player scores can never go negative, J! scores can go negative
- All 5x5 players participate in the 5 by Final, J! players with negative scores cannot participate in the final question.
Multipliers:
- Each player in 5x5 has an opportunity for a DoubleUp, and can multiply their score by up to 5 times in the 5 by Final. Only certain players who reveal Daily Doubles can multiply their score in the regular J! rounds, and players can at maximum double their score with the final question.
- The player selecting a 5x5 DoubleUp gets to see the question before deciding whether to answer, where in J! the player makes a wager then sees the question.
- If the player decides not to ring in to answer on a DoubleUp, it is released to the other players to attempt at a value of 5000. In J! other players do not get a chance at the Daily Double clue.
- In 5x5 DoubleUps are in a fixed position in the last row, In J! Daily Doubles are placed somewhat at random (rarely in the first row)
